Facebook Launches a Twitter App


This is a bit of a shocker. Facebook, who has seemingly been in a race to emulate many of Twitter’s features, just announced that it’s launching the ability for Facebook Page admins to simultaneously update both their Page and Twitter.

Facebook explains how this will work in a blog post:

“If you manage a Facebook Page, you now will be able to decide whether to share updates with their Twitter followers, and you also will be able to control what type of updates to share: status updates, links, photos, notes, events or all of them.

If you have multiple Pages, you will have the option to link each of those Pages to different Twitter accounts. This new feature will only link Facebook Pages to Twitter, not your individual profile. It will soon be available at http://www.facebook.com/twitter”

Vote for 'Family Guy' for an Emmy, or you'll lose your kneecaps


It's a "For your consideration" ad, Seth MacFarlane style, and it'll continue to separate the true Family Guy fans from the non-believers. This is the first of six planned Emmy-related videos from the Fox series, which is the first animated show to be nominated for outstanding comedy since the Stone Age (that would be The Flintstones in 1961).

MacFarlane has said publicly that he's not really gunning for the award because he thinks Family Guy has a snowball's chance against live-action series like 30 Rock, Entourage and How I Met Your Mother. But that doesn’t mean he'll forgo Emmy stumping—it'll just be strained through his particular (peculiar?) brand of humor. Think: cute animated characters capable of Sopranos levels of violence. For years, the iconic bottle was the center of all their advertising, than the brand traded the bottle for the ‘In An ABSOLUT World’ campaigns. Now, ABSOLUT launched ‘Anthem’, a new commercial for which the brand teamed up with six artists.

Volkswagen goes viral for the love of speed

Hong Kong - Volkswagen has rolled out a series of viral videos and launched a minisite today to promote the new generation of Golf GTI targeting performance car lovers.

This is the first campaign since McCann took over the business from DDB early this year, which focuses on using online media to reach out to a much wider but targeted audience in car related forums and via the web.

The mini-site, which rolled out today features a number of viral videos themed "For the love of speed" that include the fastest rice cake making chefs from Japan, undress in five seconds, the world's fastest cup stacking champion and minute painter.

The digital campaign that runs on Yahoo and Atnext includes TV spots, ads in newspapers, on outdoor billboard and radio.
